Clarification on Invitation to work with 157 Group in partnership - announced 3rd August 2010

5th August 2010

'With reference to the Invitation to Create an Awarding Organisation Partnership with the 157 Group as promulgated on 3rd of August 2010, this message is to clarify certain matters that have arisen from feedback to date:

• As described in section 2 of the invitation, the 157 Group has established a vision but has not yet landed on the most appropriate vehicle and process to deliver the vision. The invitation provides a process by which the market may inform the vision but there are no guarantees at this stage what the specific outcome will be.

• The process described does not represent a formal or informal selection process in pursuit of a commercial relationship.

• Should 157 Group, and its members, seek to establish a commercial relationship with a private sector awarding organisation, then the process of selection and award would be completed in accordance with requisite EU procurement legislation, in a fair and transparent manner.
