Head of Research & External Relations
Amy joined the 157 Group in January 2016 as Head of Research and External Relations responsible for delivering our research priorities as well as our external communications and stakeholder engagement work. Prior to this from 2008 she held a variety of external relations, research and fundraising roles at Labour Party Head Office, most recently as Head of External Relations.
Previously she spent time at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman where she provided research and procurement of external professional advice, including coordinating research in the report “Six lives: the provision of public services to people with learning disabilities”. Amy studied Politics and Music at university in South Carolina before moving to the UK to participate in the Hansard Society Scholars Programme. She completed her Master’s in International Relations and Contemporary Political Theory and began her career working as a Parliamentary Researcher.
Amy is a Trustee of Wise Dolls, a charity offering creative arts therapy to survivors of domestic abuse, and Icon Theatre, an award-winning Medway based national touring company who also deliver an extensive community outreach programme.
