Leicester community scorecard

Leicester College developed its Community Scorecard in 2010 following the publication in 2009 of the community scorecard proposals by UKCES in Towards Ambition 2020.   The college’s scorecard was designed to reflect the Governing Body’s wish to find a way of showing Leicester College’s activity and contribution to the wider community in its broadest form.  The Governing Body’s intention in initiating and supporting the development of the scorecard was twofold:

·         To show how Leicester College serves its local community

·         To demonstrate its accountability to that local community by publishing key information about its performance.

Governors review the information within the scorecard and approve any changes twice a year as part of its cycle of monitoring of the college’s Business and Development Plan.

Since it was launched, the college has undertaken further work to refine the model particularly in light of developments such as FE Choices, the Informing Choice framework and other changes to the publication of performance information.  The format and content of the scorecard is currently being reviewed and it will be updated to draw on new sources of data including the economic contribution of the college and learner destination information.
