A Message from Lynne Sedgmore CBE, Executive Director

As Executive Director I am delighted to be leading and supporting a membership organisation that offers a unique voice, made up of the very best colleges and leaders across the Learning and Skills Sector.

I am deeply impressed with the commitment and dedication to students, staff, employers and local communities I witness in member colleges across the country as colleagues work to deliver a vast range of provision in a diverse range of situations.

157 colleges are a strong and influential collective force, intent on making a major impact on the future policy, shape and landscape of the sector and related policy. We are committed to raising the reputation of the sector and contributing to excellence and the raising of quality, alongside the sharing of good practice.

Our colleges are at the leading edge of innovation, employer engagement, and new business practices and we have a huge passion and desire to offer our services and experience for the benefit of the whole sector.

I join 157 after holding a variety of leadership roles in FE and am excited by the possibilities and talents of its members. I have a strong team with Kat Fletcher as Director of Policy and Development, and Sandra Farrell as Executive Assistant.
In partnership with Chair Graham Moore we will expand and enhance the good work of 157 to provide even greater benefits and influence into the future.
